Lessons

Sadly we are unable and not allowed to offer driving lessons until this existing lockdown comes to an end.

There is no certainty that the government’s suggested date of December 2nd will necessarily allow us to restart but we will the moment we are allowed. Many apologies.

COVID compliance……………

When lessons restart, Instructors will be wearing face coverings and will have used anti-bacterial gel on their hands. Students too are expected to have washed their hands just before their lesson and to wear face masks covering their mouth and nose.

Windows will be open to create as safe an environment as we can with plenty of moving fresh air.

Between every lesson, the car will be wiped down with Anti-bacteria wipes, all contact points. These will include the rear view mirror, the steering wheel, gear stick, handbrake, seat adjuster, seat belt connectors, indicator and light stalks, all dashboard controls, ignition keys and all points on the door that a student might touch including all controls.

Windows will remain open unless heavy rain is present to ensure good air  flow.

Any student showing any symptoms of COVID-19, the lesson will not proceed. Our primary concern is to keep every student  safe.

For those who want to register their interest in taking driving lessons and join over 100 of our current students, please text us with your name and postcode and availability so we can plan accordingly to

A very warm welcome is extended to you; thank you for visiting this site. A little about our team..

Andrew is married and has four daughters ranging from 30 down to 20 so he “gets” young people and knows how to communicate with them. That’s important.

Kevin is married and has an elder daughter and son in their early 30s and a younger son just finishing his gap year and lives in Effingham and comes with 31 years of experience. Kevin is also a top qualified instructor’s instructor besides having taught hundreds of pupils in his illustrious career to date.

Ralph Dalton is married and has taught Jive dancing for over 17 years so comes with a wealth of experience on imparting knowledge which he applies effectively to his pupils who want to learn how to drive. His patience and pupil care are fantastic and if you want to learn how to dance, he’s your man and not Kevin or Andrew 🙂

We also have two young ladies under training to expand our team and coverage, Samira who will be based in Haslemere and Mel in Liphook and who will qualified later this year!

If you are at School, Sixth form college or Surrey Uni, we can collect you from there and drop you home or vice versa.

We operate primarily from Haslemere, Liphook, Godalming, Witley, Guildford, Woking, Hindhead, Headley, East Horsely, Effingham, Leatherhead, Weybridge, Chertsey, Camberley, Lightwater, Bagshot and local areas and as of October, expanding into Petersfield, Waterlooville, Havant, Chichester and Portsmouth.

Later starters already established in their careers and who work from an office, school or factory,  we can either begin or finish at your place of work to make things easier for you. We like to be flexible.

A Star Driving School is here to impart a life skill that will make a significant difference to your life whether at the moment you have to rely on public transport, don’t want to wait at bus stops in the wet and cold or rely on your family and friends for lifts but want that sense of freedom and independence to go where you want and when you want. YES!

Whatever the reason, it’s important you pick a really good instructor. Please look at our customer reviews and satisfy yourself first that we are right for you. (click here to read REVIEWS )

Test centres covered are Guildford, Chertsey and Farnborough. (Chichester and Portsmouth later in the year).
